Cure the Winter Blues with Floral Therapy

I think it’s safe to say, the weather across the country has given most of us the winter blues. The KHI Team is here to brighten your day. I want you to take a moment to relax and enjoy this collection of floral photography. I hope it inspires you to go to your local market or florist to treat yourself to some fresh flowers. I promise a bright bouquet will infuse happiness into your home. It is the perfect pick-me-up for your mood…and your décor.

As I long for the warmer weather, a few of my favorite flowers come to mind. Peonies and hydrangeas, white please, are definitely at the top of my list. For a spring fever fix, I recommend ranunculus to add a touch of freshness to your interior.

When designing a room, I think about layers of texture and color to create visual interest. That is what I love about ranunculus. They are delicate, have luscious layers of petals and a beautiful variance in color. Explore the arrangements available at one of my local San Francisco favorites—Farmgirl Flowers. Ranunculus play a starring role in many of their creations.

If you grow tired of ranunculus, by late spring (May) my very, most favorite, in the whole-wide-world flower (can you tell I loooooove them), will be blooming - peonies! I am truly obsessed with them. They actually take my breath away. I cannot walk past a flower stand that showcases peonies without stopping in my tracks and admiring them. This big, fluffy, fragrant flower is simply extravagant and a must to incorporate into your home decor any and every single time they are available.

Spring will be here soon, so treat yourself and your home to a sumptuous bunch of beautiful blooms. I hope this floral therapy ignites your senses and lifts your mood…until the weather can.
